WHITE WINES

OUR ESTATE’S BEST RHEINGAU RIESLING WINES

Winkeler Dachsberg

Winkeler Dachsberg

Rheingau Riesling, semi-dry, Qualitätswein b.A

„The climate in the Dachsberg site is relatively cool. As such, the grapes grown here yield wines with pronounced fruit and a floral acidity. For me, the Winkeler Dachsberg is a very classic, off-dry Rheingau Riesling: youthful, clear-cut, with a bit of apricot in the background. In all, it’s still somewhat closed. Nevertheless, it already shows a profile. It goes well with food. I recently had it with a wild herb and mandarin orange salad dressed in a grapefruit vinaigrette. Delicious!“

Schumann-Nägler Réserve

Schumann-Nägler Réserve

Rheingau Riesling, dry, Qualitätswein b.A.

„The bottom line: a super wine! In Réserve, we combine the different traits of our finest sites. The grapes from Kläuserweg contribute huge volume and depth and a wealth of aromas. Add to this the light, fruity notes of Mäuerchen grapes. Grapes from the mature vines of the Mönchspfad site add the final touch: the reserves that lend the wine its unmistakable identity. Powerful, with a lot of bite, yet harmonious, with a clear-cut profile. This wine will save the day, particularly when served with a risotto enhanced by clams and John Dory fish."

Schumann-Nägler Réserve

Schumann-Nägler Réserve

Rheingau Riesling, semi-dry, Qualitätswein b.A.

"Similar to the dry Reserve, we also blend the best of our of our finest sites to create the semi-dry Reserve. Opulent wines from Kläuserweg, fruit-driven characteristics from

Mäuerchen, reserves from Mönchspfad – a simply great Kombination. The wine has a clear struktur boasting the beautiful aroma of ripe and juicy peaches. A playful interaction between acidity and subtle sweetness that goes very well with a Thai curry, scampis and fresh coriander."

Geisenheimer Rothenberg

Geisenheimer Rothenberg

Riesling  QbA, Erstes Gewächs

„This wine immediately triggers an “urge to drink” – even with the prolific German wine blogger and winemaker Dirk Würtz. The red, clayish loam brings forth the very special character of this wine. Marked by diverse fruit aromas and a hint of wood, it has an extraordinarily compact structure and a virtually endless finish. To quote Würtz: “A real explosion on the palate and simply a true masterpiece.” Especially delicious with roast saddle of venison served pink, atop mild, cone-shaped cabbage.“

Hattenheimer Schützenhaus

Hattenheimer Schützenhaus

Riesling Kabinett, dry, Prädikatswein

„An outstanding wine from grapes grown in the Hattenheimer Schützenhaus site. The heavy loamy soils yield powerful, clearly structured Rieslings. This wine is reminiscent of banana, ripe peach, and dried fruit. Its mineral notes open up on the palate. It’s juicy and vigorous, with a beautifully integrated acidity. Slices of crisp, roast breast of duck or a wafer-thin veal cutlet go very well with this wine.“

Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen

Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen

Riesling Spätlese, dry

„One of the Rheingau’s finest sites: Hattenheimer Wisselbrunnen. Optimal conditions for a great wine. A Riesling with lots of promise. Subtle aromas of apricot and quince paired with a mineral note. This wine has good substance and a pleasant bite. A powerful Riesling. It goes particularly well with fillet of beef, mashed potatoes, and green beans.“

580Cuvée S

580Cuvée S

"Our family has cultivated grapes in the Rheingau since 1438. The year 2018 marks the 580th vintage harvested by the estate. The components for the white Cuvée S are sourced from our very best single-site wines. Rieslings and Pinots team up to produce a unique explosion of flavor in a complex, mineral-rich, and fruit-driven wine. It’s perfect with marinated shrimp or grilled North Sea turbot. A wine that’s simply fun to drink!"
